SnowSchool is an unforgettable winter field trip that combines real science with hands-on learning.
Third – Sixth grade Montessori students in Sparta will participate in classroom pre-trip instruction about what they’ll experience – whether it’s identifying wildlife tracks and markings or measuring snow depth and water content.
They then take that new knowledge out onto the snow, guided by experts the school works with like biologists, education specialists, volunteer naturalists and others.
Back in the classroom, the students then explain what they learned and participate in follow-up projects.
With 28,000 annual participants at forty-five sites across the United States, SnowSchool is a hands-down success with teachers, kids, teens, parents and public land managers. More info www.snowschool.org or 608-269-4522.
