Happy Harvest!

Justin Trails Resort gardens are spectacular! Hosting weddings causes me to have deadlines to get the gardens in great shape. Thanks to Don, Dawn, Andreas, Patti, Katie and Corey for your work in pruning, weeding, mulching the gardens and cutting the grass.

The new wildflower garden planted by Cindy Ramseyer is alive with color of purple coneflower, black eye Susan and more. Another great photo backdrop packed with natural color!

Melanie Pehling of Farm Girl Adventures, is joining our team on Saturdays: October 16, November 13 and December 4.

Mel sees herself as a fledgling steward of a 10-acre farmette with horses, chickens, guinea and gardens, She is one of those gals who is pluckily finding her hidden can-do-Farm-Girl inner strength as the challenges that come when partnering with nature happen…providing jolting, ability stretching hands-on opportunities. Therefore, Farm-Girl Adventures has grown out of her own life experiences, and a heart’s desire to “pass on country wisdom through empowering know-how classes, activities, get togethers, and always, with time for a cup of tea.” Mel’s hope is to be pass on encouragement to the women of our area just like her heroine–Mary Jane Butters (if you’re curious, go to maryjanesfarm.org be ready to be inspired!)
As Mel puts t ogether her part of the upcoming activities, she will share and engage you in the activities that will encourage mirth, goodwill, and tasty morsels focusing on the produce of each season’s harvest. You’ll discover a splendid sense of accomplishment through the resourceful use of what you have within your reach.
