Our 2 Pet Llamas

Our pet llamas Porter and Stout were born in September 2020 and moved to Justin Trails Resort on June 5, 2021.

Llamas are very social animals. They are extremely curious and most will approach people easily.

Both llamas love to be hand-fed treats right out of your hand!

There is a mailbox outside their house where you will find treats. Shake the treat jar, put some treats in your hand, hold your hand out, and feel the tickling sensation as they eat the treats.

Bird Watching

Pack your binoculars!  Wisconsin is home to more than 325 bird species that make the round-trip each year along the Mississippi Flyway. Our beautiful eco-friendly resort is the perfect place to spot them. We offer a peaceful habitat for our feathered friends with over 200-acres of woodland, ponds, and prairies. Each year at Justin Trails Resort a bird count is performed

Marty Evanson took 3 breeding bird counts in May 2022 with a total of 68 bird species identified! Our property hosts 7 species of woodpeckers, 7 varieties of flycatchers, 4 thrush species, 3 vireo species, Scarlet Tanager, and at least 8 warbler species. Owls and raptors can often be seen or heard.

Trail System

Nestled in a private coulee, Justin Trails Resort and cabin rentals includes 200-acres of woodland, hills, and meadows. We created a trail system in 1985 that we maintain for guests to enjoy snowshoeing, disc golf, hiking, running, fat tire biking or making up their own adventures. We are a pet-friendly Wisconsin getaway, and our property offers a great opportunity for dogs to run off-leash far away from roads or traffic.

Keep your eyes peeled and you may spy deer, wild turkeys, hawks, and other wildlife along the trail. When the weather is warm, we mow our trails creating miles of soft, grassy barefoot-worthy routes. During winter months take advantage of our 4 miles of gorgeous snowshoe (rent $10) trails or make up your own route. Access to our trail system is included for guests staying in our Bed and Breakfast and cabins in Wisconsin, for day visitors the Trail Pass is $10, under age 5 no charge. (Download Map)

Stargazing & Bonfires

Guests rave “The nighttime skies are as amazing as the farm.” Our remote location and clear skies make for excellent stargazing. As you look up into the night sky, it seems as if you can reach up and grab the Big Dipper.

Year-round bonfires are super fun, and guests are welcome to use fire rings and supplied firewood anytime during their Wisconsin getaway. Be sure to pack ingredients for making s’mores. We have plenty of trees, so you will easily find sticks on the ground for roasting your marshmallows.

Snowshoeing

If you can walk, you can snowshoe, no experience is necessary for this sport! All you need is a pair of snowshoes (rent $10), warm clothes, sturdy boots and a sense of adventure! We have snowshoes for adults and children to enjoy our very hilly 200-acre property.

This photo is our friend Kristi, her daughter & granddaughters snowshoeing.

Use of our snowshoe trails is available with a Trail Pass $10, under age 5 no charge. (Trail Pass is included when you stay in our lodging).

On a night hike there is no need for lights with the bright white snow. Our 4 miles of groomed trails are of varying difficulty and a great way for the entire family to take in breath-taking vistas, animals, birds, beautiful woodlands and sparkling snow around Justin Trails Resort.
